James Patrick Adair, MHS, PA-C

Mr. Adair serves as a certified physician assistant to Drs Kurt Morrison and Jean Dabezies.  He is involved in patient care by performing first assist duties on knee, hip, shoulder, total joint reconstruction, and fracture fixation surgeries.  He also conducts independently run total joint and orthopaedic clinics.  Mr. Adair performs clinic evaluations, diagnostic testing, lab review, pre-operative evaluations, radiographic review, and participates in hospital rounding.

Mr. Adair most recently returns from St. Louis, Missouri where he served as Chief physician assistant recruited to aide in initiating, hiring, maintaining, and supervising a staff of four physician assistants for the primary purpose of twenty-four hour coverage of the emergency department for the orthopedic trauma department at St. John Mercy Medical center staffed by Saint Louis University orthopedic surgeons.  While there he performed closed reduction of fractures, splint placement, cast application, placement of traction pins and set up of skeletal traction, compartment pressure monitoring, inpatient hospital rounds, followed patients in an independently run PA clinic, and weekly attending clinic.

Mr. Adair was also placed in charge of assisting with the clinical aspects of converting the medical office to an electronic medical records system (EMR),  EPIC.
This entailed being available as a contact for any difficulties the staff encounters after the EPIC training team has completed their training classes, teaching new residents the intricacies of our clinic with the new EMR system, and general liaison between staff and EPIC staff.

Mr Adair originally became interested in his current profession as a Hospital Corpsman in the USNR after graduating from high school, where he spent approximately 8 years of reserve time while completing college.  He was involved in training navy personnel as a CPR instructor and teaching multiple mandatory instruction classes.
